Wow what a beautiful house. I'd love to have bedrooms so big all the house here in Australia are being built with small bedrooms and living spaces along with backyards much smaller too so they can squeeze more houses into the suburbs. Most older houses I find are being either torn down or turned in multiple apartments with little backyards.
I think that is the general move everywhere. Lots of new houses around here, all very close together with small backyards. I think everyone in the village was worried this one would be turned into apartments or a hotel. I think one of the reasons the estate liked our offer was because we wanted it as a family home.
So if you lose the stairs between the kitchen and sitting room, you'll have a lovely big family kitchen space and upstairs you can cover the stairwell making it into a dressing room for that bedroom with the ensuite bathroom? Bring in another doorr across the hallway to encapsulate both rooms. 👍🏻

All I can say is just, "WOW!" Can't wait to see this develop!
Thank you :-)

Very true. We'll have to see what the structural engineer says.
